Vintage cars, the Elegance Competition returns on Sunday among the castles of Brescia

Brescia. On Sunday, 27 September, the 9th Meano Elegance Competition for Vintage Cars returns, an event included in the national calendar of Ruote nella Storia, the format created by the Automobile Club d’Italia and ACI Storico to promote Italy’s historic automotive heritage through its connection with territories, villages and the country’s most representative landmarks.

For the organisation of the Brescia stage, the Automobile Club Brescia collaborates with the Meauto Asd historic car & motorcycle club, affiliated with ACI Storico, and with the Rotary Club Brescia-Meano delle Terre Basse.

The day will guide participants and the public through the discovery of the Terre Basse bresciane, following a route that links some of the most evocative residences in the area: from the Castle of Meano, in the hamlet of Corzano, to the Castle of Padernello, and finally to Palazzo Feltrinelli in Gerolanuova, where the awards ceremony will be held.

The programme includes the arrival and registration of the vehicles at the Castle of Meano between 7:30 and 8:30, followed by their exhibition for evaluation within the 9th Elegance Competition. At 11:00, civil and Rotary authorities will deliver the welcome address. At noon, the convoy will depart towards the Castle of Padernello, where lunch is scheduled at 13:00. In the afternoon, the arrival at Palazzo Feltrinelli in Gerolanuova will be followed at 16:30 by the awards ceremony and the lottery draw, with a historic Fiat 500 as the prize.

The event fully embodies the spirit of Ruote nella Storia, using historic motoring as a tool to enhance the territory, its communities and the cultural and architectural heritage that characterises it. Vintage cars thus become the guiding thread of a journey through history, landscape and automotive culture.

The competition was created with the aim of supporting the educational project “Vintage Cars: a school of restoration”, which seeks to transmit technical and artisanal skills in the restoration of historic vehicles, promoting the automotive and industrial heritage of Brescia’s tradition. Among the initiatives already launched are two scholarships named after Vincenzo Tenchini, the main creator of the project, awarded to students of restoration courses at IAL Lombardia in collaboration with Noci Motor Classic. A key milestone was the project’s inclusion in the Historic Motoring Supply Chain of 1000 Miglia, which promotes the creation of integrated production ecosystems linking training, industry and cultural heritage.

With the sixth edition of Ruote nella Storia and the ninth Meano Elegance Competition, ACI Storico, Automobile Club Brescia, the Meauto Asd historic car & motorcycle club, and the Rotary Club Brescia-Meano delle Terre Basse once again highlight historic motoring as an expression of culture, memory and identity of the Brescia territory.
